Mystery for the murder of two men, with two and a half hours of difference, in San Pedro de los Milagros

Two murders, with two and a half hours of difference, continue to sharpen the security crisis in the municipality of San Pedro de los Milagros, North Antioquia. Both bodies found them in paths located at the ends of the town, but the authorities advance in the inquiries to establish whether the facts would be related.

The first found body was presented at 7:40 in the morning of Sunday in the La Mortoria sector, of the village El Espapero, in the boundaries with Belmira. There they found the body of Julián Rodríguez, 25, whom they killed with several impacts with a firearm and hours later the authorities learned of what happened by a call from the community, informing about this crime.

On Julian, the relatives indicated that he worked in agriculture, but that they did not know the reasons why his murder was presented. They even pointed out that they did not know threats against them, that they gave indication to the fact that such a situation could be presented.

When the judicial work was barely finished, they reported the second case in the La China village, which limits with beautiful. In this sector, 40 minutes from the town center, they reported the crime of Santiago Olarte Carvajal, 19, who also had several firearm wounds. The units of the Antioquia Police also knew the case by an anonymous call to the CAI of San Félix, corregimiento de Bello.

At the moment, from the Antioquia Police they advance in the work and are handling each crime as an isolated event, although for the short time of difference and some rumors are investigated if it could be a fact that would be linked to each other.

With these two killed, in San Pedro de los Milagros, four homicides are already counted this year, a figure that alerts the authorities, taking into account that in all 2024 nine homicides were counted, although the authorities indicate that this peak would be related to specific situations in the territory.

In fact, the other two murders that were registered in this municipality were that of the husbands Fidel Rodríguez, 73, and Elvira Tamayo, 75, within a farm of this municipality of the Northern Antioquia, in an apparent act of intolerance.

For this crime, the authorities captured Juan David Velásquez Giraldo, whom they pointed out of this murder after finding evidence within the property where they murdered these two older adults. In addition, they found some clothing and traces in a weapon that would imply this man in this murder.

“Thanks to arduous and specialized work of police investigation and intelligence through two search and registration proceedings, the capture of Juan David Velázquez Giraldo alleged material author of this fact was achieved,” said Colonel Gerson Bedoya, commander in charge of the Police Antioquia.

The subregion of the North Antioquia is the one that presents the greatest increase in its murder number, if the numbers with the 2024 are compared, since to date there were seven cases against the 19 that go this year, which shows an increase of 171 %.
