About 80 missionaries participated, with the motto ‘Pilgrims of Hope’. The activities were organized in four large dimensions: spirituality, training, community life and mission.
With the motto ‘Pilgrims of Hope’, about 80 missionaries of different parishes of the Archdiocese of Paraná participated, from Thursday, January 30 to Sunday, February 2, of the second summer mission of that ecclesiastical jurisdiction.
The missionaries gathered in the green gold parish and were accompanied by the delegate for the missions, the presbyter Emanuel del Castillo.
The mission was organized in four large dimensions, which allowed participants to live an integral path: spirituality, training, community life and mission.
Spirituality: Each day was marked by times of prayer, with spaces of worship, celebration of the Eucharist and the prayer of the rosary through the streets.
Training: It reflected on two fundamental issues for the missionary path: “The keys of a missionary in the Jubileo de la Esperanza” and “How to move from survival to hope.” These instances helped to deepen the identity of each missionary and renew the commitment of evangelization.
Community life: The fraternity was also the protagonist these days, with moments of encounter, stoves, games and talks, which strengthened ties between missionaries and allowed to share faith from joy.
Mission: The heart of this experience was the visits to the houses, where the missionaries shared the word and listened to the families. In addition, meetings for children and adults, and spaces for confession and celebration of the Eucharist were organized. As a festive closure, a folk missionary festival was held, which brought together the local community and people from nearby towns, celebrating faith with music and joy together.
Among the significant moments that this mission left, there was a phrase that resonated in everyone’s heart. A child, with the simplicity and depth of his faith, said: “God gives us a mission, we start it and Jesus ends it.” His words reflect the very essence of missionary shipping: to be instruments of God in the task of announcing the gospel, trusting that it is Christ who carries out the work in each heart.
On Saturday 1 at night, the castle priest celebrated the closing Mass of the Mission, through which a strong invitation was made to bring that enthusiasm and missionary commitment to all parish communities, so that throughout the diocese a true state of permanent mission is lived.+
