The author himself defined his work as «a book for travelers, not for tourists, so that the one who comes to this city stays with how wonderful it is. And, as he said, the book incorporates “all those visions and my experiences in Ávila, friends, all life” because it is a guide that “is very mine.” And writing is “very fresh, poetic, literary, has my part of a lifelong travel writer, but with that synthesis ability that characterizes journalists,” he said.

For his part, Ricardo Sánchez acknowledged that it is the “first work that I do in this concept and with these circumstances. Carlos is the one who has involved me throughout the project and at first I had a little panic, but I have started all the illustrations I had to do with the traveler’s face, not the artist, and I have tried to reproduce what I I felt ». He also said that to illustrate all these places he has mixed «different techniques, memories, my personal experiences of the past and the present, and above all thinking about the people who are going to visit the city, so that they have a good impression of color and the Ávila Luz and the texture of the stones, which is fundamental ».
