The bishop of Valladolid origin, Aurelio García Macíasexpresses his joy after being named Holy Week crier 2025. “As a son of this land, he is a true honor for me to sing the beauty of the Christian mystery that is celebrated during those days”.
Garcia Maciasexplains that it is a challenge for him because “importance“ and “transcendence“ of this event in Valladolid. “Throughout my life I have participated, for many years, as a spectator in the previous proclamationsand this year it is a novelty for me to participate as a town crier”details.
“For many years I have passionately lived the beautiful Valladolid Holy Week. And that is what I intend to share with all my countrymen. One’s own perspective on liturgical celebrations and devotional processions, on what is seen and heard, on what is seen externally and what is sensed internally; first as a seminarian, then as a priest and now, also, as a bishop.”he explains.
Finally, he wanted to express his gratitude to the archbishop, Luis Arguello and to the mayor, Jesus Julio Carnero.
