Cardi B will receive a prestigious Ascap prize

Los Angeles-Cardi b It is no stranger to ASCAP awards, and another prestigious honor will soon be added to its trophies collection.
The American Society of Composers, Authors and Editors (ASCAP) announced on Wednesday that Cardi B will receive the award Voice of the Culture Award. It will be honored in the exclusive Ascap event that celebrates the best composers of Hip-Hop, R&B and Gospel on June 8 in Los Angeles.
“Being recognized for the impact that my songs have had on culture means everything for me,” Cardi B said in a statement. “I have always wanted my platform and my music to remain faithful to who I am and inspire others to do the same, so this honor is especially significant.”

The Voice of the Culture Award award is awarded to ASCAP members who have had a great influence on music and culture, recognizing their success as creators and agents of change. Usher was the honor receiver last year.
Cardi B made history in 2020 as the first woman to receive consecutively the awards Rhythm & Soul Songwriter of the Year. He has won 23 ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music awards.
Hip-hop superstar is the winner of a Grammywhose “Invasion of Privacy” won the Best Rap Album Award in 2019. It is known for successes as “Wedding Yellow”, “I Like it” and “Wap.”
“Cardi B has left an indelible mark on the Hip-Hop culture by redefining and challenging the rules for women,” said Paul Williams, president of the Board of Directors and President of ASCAP. “Having broken innumerable barriers with its authenticity and talent without complexes, it continues to use its voice to advocate and inspire others, a true testimony of its undeniable impact.”
