David Lynch was going to make a series for Netflix before he died — Rock&Pop
The co-executive director of Netflix, Ted Sarandoshas revealed that, before his death on January 15 at age 78, David Lynch had been working on a miniseries for the streaming service.
The death of the creator Twin Peaks was announced on Thursday (January 16) by his family. Something that followed claims that it was seen “forced to move out of his home”, due to the Los Angeles wildfires.

Sarandos has resorted to instagram to pay tribute to the filmmaker, talking about his collaborations with Netflix and the popularity of its movies among customers since its beginnings as a DVD mailing service. He also talked about a project that he had presented to them and which excited the company.
The top brass at the company revealed: “He came to Netflix to present a miniseries which we accept without hesitation. It was a David Lynch production, full of mystery and risks, but we wanted to go on this creative journey with this genius.”
He went on to say, “David Lynch was an unapologetic genius. He didn’t want us to understand his work. He knew that was impossible and that it was part of the path we had to walk together.” During his career, Lynch directed 12 feature films and created the cult show Twin Peaks, along with its continuation Twin Peaks: The Return.
He was nominated for four Oscars and eight Emmys, and received the Honorary Academy Award during the 2019 Oscar season. His most celebrated works include The Elephant Man, Blue Velvet and Mulholland Drive.
Tributes have poured in from all areas of entertainment since the news of Lynch’s death. The legendary director Steven Spielberg described it as “an original and unique voice”, while musical artists Lykke Li and Duran Duran have also commented on its influence.
