Judge temporarily prevents Trump to licensed thousands of USAID workers

A federal judge ordered the Trump government to immediately stop their plans to put thousands of employees in the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) on administrative license this Friday night and demanded the agency that temporarily reincorporates 500 workers who had been suspended.

In a temporary restriction order issued late this Friday, District Judge Carl Nichols said the Trump administration cannot put any administrative license employee and said that the hundreds of other employees who have already been placed in License must be reintegrated until at least February 14 at 11:59 pm Miami time.

The order came just before the besieged agency put thousands of employees in indefinite leave or fire them. CNN reported before the judge of the judge who had planned to keep less than 300 people as essential personnel from 11:59 pm Miami time this Friday.

The order of Nichols, a person designated by President Donald Trump, also said that no USAID worker “will be evacuated from his host countries before February 14, 2025 at 11:59 pm” and required the government to give the Employees “Complete access to email, payments and security notification systems until that date.”

The judge set a hearing on a larger blocking of the Trump administration plans to dismantle the agency for February 12.

The seven -page order emphasized the “irreparable damage” that USAID employees would face if they were licensed, particularly given the environments in which some of them work around the world.

“Many USAID employees work in ‘high -risk environments where access to security resources is critical,” Nichols wrote. “No future demand could undo the physical damage that could result if USAID employees are not informed of imminent security threats that occur in countries to which they have moved in the course of their service to the United States.”

The emergency order occurred in a lawsuit filed this Thursday for a couple of union groups representing USAID employees.
