Karen and the remedies: spirituality, darkness and existentialism in its new stage

We interviewed Karen, a vocalist behind Karen and Los Remedios, one of the acts that we like most about this edition of Bahidorá in which we project musical.

Karen and Los Remedios began 2025 being remixed by Camilo Lara for his song “Las Girls” to which Karen mentioned the following:

Our collaboration with the Mexican Institute of Sound emerged in a very organic way. We were still in networks, we were already located, and one day I dared to write to him: “What’s up, a remix?” He replied yes, that easy. Everything flowed natural, and now we owe one to him.

After launching “silence” in 2023 and continuing in 2024 standing out with new singles. Karen and Los Remedios will have several remixes of his work released in these years, as well as closing 2025 showing the first singles of his new album.

“Last year we were very active, we took several singles like Dragon and When there is no lightand now we are working on an LP of Remixes. At the end of the year we will release the first advance of our second album. We are very excited because we are exploring new sounds. ”

On his presentation in Bahidorá we believe that the space of the stakes highlights its sound of cumbia Darks and mysterious. It will be a show that will have an unpublished song and a message more focused on the visuals, this part of the visuals will be one of the challenges that the group intends to improve and explore better for this year.

Yes, we love Bahidorá! It is a festival with a very special vibes. We are choosing well what songs to play and preparing the visual part of the show. We also premiere live a collaboration with Ferdinand González of The Guadaloopsand I really want them to listen to her.

For me, the greatest challenge with this second album is to consolidate the visual part of the project. Before I worked in photo, graphic design and video, so I want the aesthetics of the band to be stronger. And, of course, the other challenge is to be able to dedicate ourselves 100% to music. We love to play and travel every weekend, but it would be a dream to do it without having to divide with other jobs.
