The Blas Pascal University launches the religious tourism course together with the World Network of Religious and Spiritual Tourism Destinations
The Blas Pascal University (UBP), in collaboration with the World Network of Religious and Spiritual Tourism Destinations, has announced the launch of a new Religious Tourism course, designed to train professionals trained in integrating spirituality, culture and sustainability in tourist proposals. This academic program responds to the growing demand for tourism experiences that combine faith, history and respect for the environment, a booming segment in the global market.
Religious Tourism has emerged as one of the most prominent modalities within the global tourism sector. According to the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), millions of people travel each year motivated by spiritual reasons, generating a significant impact on both the local economy and cultural exchange. In this context, the UBP has designed a course that explores the most relevant aspects of this sector, with a focus on sustainability and the preservation of religious and cultural heritage.
A comprehensive and flexible course
The UBP Religious Tourism course covers a complete and multidisciplinary study plan, which includes the following modules:
- History and foundations of religious tourism: Study the historical and cultural roots of religious travel, its evolution and current relevance.
- Management of religious destinations: Provides tools for the planning and administration of religious destinations, ensuring an enriching experience for tourists and the conservation of the sites.
- Sustainable development in religious tourism: Promotes responsible practices that achieve a balance between tourism activity, local communities and the environment.
- Marketing and promotion of religious tourism products: Develops strategies for the promotion of destinations and religious experiences in national and international markets.
- Heritage and religious tourism: Analyzes religious heritage as a tourist resource, emphasizing respect for sacred sites and their traditional practices, as well as their management and conservation.
- Tourist security: Ensures the protection of tourists and cultural and religious heritage, providing tools to manage emergencies and guarantee the image of the destination.
Accessible and quality training
The course is aimed at professionals in the tourism sector, cultural managers, community leaders and anyone interested in the development of tourism proposals with a religious and spiritual focus. The modality is 100% online, which allows time flexibility and access from anywhere in the world.
Gustavo Loza, director of the course, highlighted the importance of this academic proposal: «Religious tourism not only generates significant income for many regions, but it is also a powerful tool for intercultural dialogue and the promotion of universal values. “We will train professionals who design and manage tourist experiences that are respectful of religious diversity, contributing to the sustainable development of communities.”
